The Parelli Natural Hackamore is widely used for young horses and relaxed riding (Freestyle or on the trail). Made form the same, lovely subtle line as our halters, it's perfect for teaching horses to be soft and confident when riding, starting or re-starting horses that are afraid of the rider's hand or bit.

"I own some expensive hackamores that are literally works of art, and yet this one is the one I most often reach for!" Pat Parelli

  1. 1/4-inch smooth Horseman's Braid (tied slightly larger than the Horsman's Halter), made of high quality yachting braid.
  2. 1/2 inch Horseman's Reins - 9 ft rein and 12 ft lead, all in one.
  3. If not used with loose, casual reins it takes away from the functionality of the design.
  4. Lead with the rope not the reins!
  5. The nylon rope you usually see used for halters and leads is typically not designed to withstand the unique challenges an equine application presents. Nylon rope stretches, can become stiff with use, increases in size over time and absorbs unwanted moisture. The 100% polyester rope used at Parelli has been specifically engineered with horsemanship use in mind. Parelli rope is dirt, sweat, mildew, rot and UV resistant. This means that your rope will stay truer to its original form longer, without fading, stretching, popping or elongating.
  6. Great for new riders, beginning riding skills or colt starting and to introduce a horse to riding basics.
  7. Great to reteach horses with riding issues to understand basic commands.

22-foot Ground Training Line with Popper

Ready for advanced ground skills?

You’ll be able to expand your horse's confidence and step up the challenge with the 22-foot Ground Training Line. The extra length enables more sensitive or scared horses to drift and allows you to gain respect from greater distances.

This 22-foot line has the same snap featured on our 12-foot line and is the perfect tool for On Line Level 2 skills and Get Ready for Liberty from the Savvy Series.

  1.  ½-inch smooth yachting braid with easy and quick snap placement loop, swivel snap leather popper, and weighted end.
  2. The popper helps with straightness when throwing, assists in horse training, and has a more classic look and feel.
  3. Stamped with the Parelli logo.
  4. 6-inches of rope is run back in at the tail; because of this, the handler can feel the end of the rope without having to look down. The rope run-back and the popper add weight for swinging and straightness when throwing.
  5. At 1200 lbs of pressure, our snap will break. The break weight is there, so the snap will break if the horse pulls back, gets tangled, or falls while being tied rather than the horse being severely hurt or killed.
  6. Suitable for large horses when a 12-foot Line isn't long enough to be out of kick range if the horse turns away (such as a large Warmblood or Draft).
  7. Designed for ground skills.
  8. Smooth, flexible, and resistant to sweat.
  9. Swivel Snap connects to the looped end of the 22-foot Line to allow for replacement.
  10. Also referred to as 22-Foot Line, 22-Foot Lead Rope, 22-Foot Training Rope, and 22-Foot Snap-Line.

More Info

In 1987, on Pat's first trip to Australia, he ran into a Horseman Legend, Morris Wright. Morris was the number one proponent of the Jeffery method of taming wild Brumbys (Mustangs). He used a 22-foot rope made of rawhide. When Pat came back to the states, he trialed his now famous yachting braid. Over time it has become one of Pat's most popular products ever produced.

This is an essential tool in your Parelli program journey because horses are great judges of distance and approach. If you only use a 12-foot rope when educating your horse on the ground, your horse will soon become bored, and you will become ineffective. Using the 22-foot rope correctly has a similar psychological effect to what you might expect if you used a round corral.

Round Equipment Bag

Carry it all in this lightweight yet strong nylon bag. Pat used to call this his 'portable round corral' because he could put everything he needed in it to communicate and connect with any horse, anywhere, without depending on a 50-foot round corral being there. Hauling ropes around can be a pain. Inevitably your lines get dragged through the mud, become tangled, or somehow disappear under the front seat of your car. With the Parelli Equipment Bag, your lines/ropes will stay safe and organized, no matter where you are heading. 45-ft training line shown in picture is sold separately.

This durable spacious bag affords you plenty of room to fit your lines, including our 45-ft. training line.

Strong durable zippers ensure that your lines/ropes stay secure inside.

Features large black Parelli logo on the front.

Training line shown in picture sold separately.
